Student Assistant - Human Resources/Transactions

The Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.

The 12 month TAU/INT Student Assistant will be directed by the Staff Services Manager I in either the Employment Office, Personnel Office, or Return to Work office at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Records and data management
• Data entry into various databases
• Provide customer service
• Answer incoming phone calls
• Assists with various office duties and special projects
• Pick up and distribute mail
• Assists the Human Resources Department in other areas, as needed

This position is limited-term (12 months); students may work up to 1500 hours in a calendar year. Work will be between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday - Friday; specific schedule is negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proof of application for, or enrollment as a student in, an appropriate college or university program.
