Job Duties
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a well-developed knowledge of quantitative analysis and capable of working with minimal oversight to solve a problem or meet a need. Demonstrated financial analysis skills required, including the ability to prepare detailed financial reports, and explain complex financial information in order to develop and refine strategic plans. Attention to detail, plus the ability to work closely and collaboratively with a diverse group of administrators is essential. Expert-level computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel and Word) is required, including an in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet functions and pivot tables.
This position is located in our Central Office in downtown Richmond, Virginia.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of and considerable experience with government budget development, accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, generating reports and making recommendations
Strong leadership skills to manage a team and drive performance
Proficiency in financial software tools and the ability to query, run reports, use databases systems
Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive evaluations of budget requests and their justifications
Considerable experience in budgetary position control and management of position control systems
Ability to present data in a clear and easily understandable manner
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with all divisions across the agency
Additional Considerations
Familiarity with state government operations, budget and fiscal policies, and Commonwealth of Virginia financial systems
Extensive experience in the public sector
Advanced data analytics expertise with working knowledge of SQL
Background in managing large scale budgets and strategic planning
A CPFO certification is desired
