A day in the life:
- Deliver efficient and exceptional customer service over the phone and in-person for commercial motor vehicle and farm certification services. Provide accurate information and guidance on various registration and licensing programs.
- Research, investigate and interpret information in accordance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Review documentation for eligibility for farm credentials and tax-exempt status for qualified farmers.
- Review applications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborate with the Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV) to approve and issue farm license plates.
- Collect fees and taxes. Assess late charges and penalties when appropriate.
- Conduct transactions for vehicle registration, renewals and address changes.
- Input data into vehicle registration system with accuracy and efficiency.
- Review and correct discrepancies.
- Conduct research in response to inquiries from internal and external customers and effectively communicate findings to a diverse audience.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment and requires extensive computer and phone use.

Minimum qualifications:
Three years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services and programs. At least one year of this experience must involve explaining and interpreting rules, programs and procedures and explaining requirements and gaining compliance.
AND
Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
AND
Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Three months experience collecting money and making change.
Completion of an associate's degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
