High School Math Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Mathematics Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of mathematics teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- Demonstrates a passion for and a deep understanding of mathematics;
- Has experience teaching a variety of levels and courses (Algebra 1 through Calculus);
- International Baccalaureate and/or Advanced Placement experience preferred;
- Implements current best practices in mathematics instruction;
- Creates a positive learning environment that engages students and maximizes instructional time;
- Has the ability to define problems, analyze data, and develop action plans to increase student achievement;
- Effectively communicates with students and parents;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Has the ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
- Has experience writing curricula and strong assessments utlizing the Understanding By Design Framework.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Math
Illinois PEL
MA or MEd preferred
