Math Teacher - High School

Contract: 2025-2026 School Year (190 Days)  Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher to join our high school team. The ideal candidate will specialize in either Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II, teaching students in grades 9-12. This individual will play a key role in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for math.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required; field of study correlated to teaching assignment as an elementary or secondary math teacher with the appropriate Arkansas licensure code or equivalent
• Teachers with experience are valued; however, no prior experience is required
• OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks
• Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members and the general public
• Preferred to be AP certified but not required

• Provide math instruction and math intervention to high school students.
• Plan and implement student-centered math lessons based on state standards.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom he or she is responsible.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress.
• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their student's progress.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
• Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress.
• Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs.
• Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

• Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
• Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary : $50,000 - $66,525
