Coach: Co-Ed Track & Field Head Coach (Immediate Opening)

Are you a passionate advocate for youth and athletics? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Track & Field coach to lead our varsity team to victory. You should have solid knowledge of T&F and be able to develop winning strategies. You should be in good physical condition, be able to make decisions under pressure, and have exceptional leadership skills. DPCR offers a paid stipend at the successful conclusion of the season

Essential skills/functions:

• Demonstrated ability to organize and implement successful T&F programs
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Abide by all OHSAA rules and regulations as well as the character and learning environment standards of DPCR.
• Good physical condition and able to lift up to 50lbs.

Coaching

• Use a variety of instructional techniques and multimedia to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned.
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students’ athletic abilities regularly
  
  
  

Student Development

• Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation
• Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations with regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.
  
  
  

Team Leadership

• Ensures that all coaches work together and always operate in the best interests of the student athletes
• Establish and maintain open communication with constituents
  
  
  

Student Safety & Operations

• Maintains, files, and copies of all pertinent materials, eligibility forms, transfer forms, grade reports, and ensures that AoC, OHSAA and DPCR guidelines are followed
  
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Successful participation in a similar activity in high school and/or college.
• Minimum of three years of successful past coaching experience at the middle, high, or college level
• Significant knowledge of T&F it’s mechanics, rules, equipment and terms.
• Possess a valid Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Permit
• Complete all required Health and Safety training and certifications to be eligible to coach in Ohio
• Valid driver’s license; must be insurable with good driving record
  
  
  

Student Supervision/Interaction:

• Adhere to the Decree on Child Protection requirements.
• Complete monthly required Bulletin trainings per VIRTUS Child Protection standards.
