Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant position will support the Director of Operations by supporting the financial aspects of the business, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate and timely financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to take on new challenges, and committed to contributing to our company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain a clear understanding of the company’s financial position.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasting financial performance.
• Track and report on budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control.

Reporting

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and operational reports for the Director of Operations and leadership team.
• Assist in preparation of annual income tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and laws.
• Help establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.

Strategic Support

• Collaborate with the Director of Operations to identify financial trends and opportunities for operational improvements.
• Provide support for pricing analysis, cost evaluations, and contract reviews as required.

Other Duties

Support special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis for new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field ( or in progress ).
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a technology, surveillance, or service-based industry
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with other financial platforms is beneficial
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
