Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative accounting team in the family office in Salt Lake City, UT. In this new role, the Staff Accountant will primarily be responsible for transaction processing, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial systems (specifically QuickBooks Online), accurate data entry, adhering to internal accounting processes, and possess a high level of discretion and trustworthiness.
Job Duties:
- Transaction processing for bank accounts and credit cards in QuickBooks Online
- Fixed asset tracking and reconciliation
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities (bank transactions, credit cards, other general ledger accounts) alongside the Accounting Manager
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting tasks and special projects as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and industry best practices
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (strong preference for Accounting), or Associate's degree with relevant industry experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of accounting experience required, preferably in the financial industry, with a focus on transaction processing, general ledger work, or related tasks
- Experience with and working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets/Excel is strongly preferred
