Working under the direction of the Food Service Manager, this role oversees menu execution, kitchen staff supervision, inventory management, training, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. The Executive Chef plays a key role in maintaining consistency, efficiency, and culinary excellence while implementing departmental policies and training programs to uphold quality and accountability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, climb, engage in repetitive motions, and use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. May routinely and repetitively lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted (or heavier with the use of proper equipment and procedures).
Expected Hours of Work
The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.
Work Environment
This job operates in office, facility, and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard kitchen equipment, standard office equipment, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.
Travel
This position requires up to 10% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours’ notice.

Essential Functions
- Menu Planning
- Assist the Food Service Manager
- Menu development with a focus on creatively innovating and staying current on restaurant industry trends, while adhering to a budget in collaboration with the Corporate Executive Chef
- Standardized production recipes to ensure consistent quality and quantity
- Contract asset planning including menu development and equipment needs
- Develop user-friendly recipe cards for all menus, providing remote and in-person support to production teams
- Executes any catering needs at the direction of the Food Service Manager
- Operations & Compliance
- Assists Food Service Manager with contract execution
- Complete and delegate day to day tasks to staff
- Ensures that HACCP procedures are followed
- Ensures compliance for old and new policies
- Ensures Sanitation Inspections are completed daily
- Training
- Assists with overall FS operations including ordering, training, inventory, quality control and sanitation compliance for a dining facility at the direction of the Food Service Manager.
- Assists in implementing and overseeing training and safety programs
- Reviews and completes staff evaluations and creates training goals for staff in conjunction with Growth & Development Team if assigned
- General Support
- Assist FS Personnel with Progressive Action Forms and employee feedback
- Oversees food service equipment on-site and maintains operational readiness
- Ensures all contract requirements are being met
- Files Daily Field Report
- Maintain varying software platforms such as monday.com, Excel, and other programs
Skills And Specifications
- Excellent leadership & management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
- Thorough understanding of quality customer food service and preparation of a variety of nutritional meals from different cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledgeable in food inventory control
- Assocaite degree is required
- Current ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent federally recognized health and sanitation program is required
- Possess or be willing to acquire ServSafe Food Allergen Certification at the company’s expense
- 5 years of experience in large-scale government dining facility operations and in executive-level dining facilities is required
- 5 years of experience the level of an Executive Chef and be certified or have comparable food service education/training is required

- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, occupational health physical and lift test (if applicable), credit check (if applicable), and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
