Job Duties

Responsible for the Payroll for NVMHI employees. Must ensure the accurate preparation and disbursement of the payroll including compensation and benefits for both salaried and wage employees by the required deadlines. Responsible for the accurate withholding and reporting of Federal, multiple State and local taxes and employee compensation on a timely basis. Provides appropriate information to employees regarding pay and benefits. Ensures Employee Leave Coordinator is properly trained and maintains accurate employee leave records for all Hospital Staff. Supervises the Payroll Assistant and the Employee Leave Coordinator and provides backup for other Fiscal Department supervisors and staff, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior work experience using the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Cardinal HCM computerized payroll processing system OR State/Federal payroll processing experience is required.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office spreadsheets and word processing applications are required.
Prior work experience using an automated Timekeeping software program required.
Graduation from college or university with degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience required.

Additional Considerations

Prior hospital work experience preferred.
