Job Duties
Knowledge of state recruitment and selection process and up to date state hiring requirements. Knowledge of Workman’s Compensation and various types of leave such as FMLA, VSDP and LTD. Working knowledge of other state benefits and policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, state officials, and employees. Ability to independently compose correspondences. Ability to handle multiple time sensitive assignments at the same time. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships; collect, compile, and analyze information and apply laws, policies, and procedures. Skilled in the operation of computer programs to include spreadsheet, database and word processing software.
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
Some college or equivalent level of training and experience indicating possession of the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience in Human Resource functional areas.
