Summary :
Handles the day to day general maintenance of building and grounds as well as the preventative maintenance required with all vehicles, equipment, units, etc.
Makes minor repairs to equipment as needed or directed. This position is expected to develop a working knowledge of HV AC units as well as facility equipment and may on occasion be required to do minor carpentry jobs, plumbing and electrical, depending on previous qualifications.
Position is mainly Monday - Friday. Some Saturdays required, holidays and or on-call.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Monitors coolers / freezers / ice makers / fryers / grills, to ensure they are working properly and appropriate temperatures are maintained.
Performs minor equipment
Maintains lighting (Changing bulbs, ballasts as )
Works closely with maintenance supervisor to develop more in-depth knowledge / s kills.
Schedule fire suppression, fire extinguisher, sprinkler system inspections annually - maintaining
Smiles and makes eye contact with fellow staff members while working
Schedules fire suppression / extinguisher safety training for heart of house staff on annual basis
Actively works with manager to alleviate unsafe practices due by relocating equipment, outlets, etc.
Provides service to staff members in other areas as needed.
Education and / or Experience :
Must be able to work closely with staff, management, local fire department and vendors in a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable manner.
Ability to read and comprehend basic wiring and plumbing repair manuals. 1 - 3 years of comparable experience, maintenance field a plus, but not a requirement.
Must be self directed with the ability to work independently.
Must have own set of hand tools for use (wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.) Power tools are supplied by the company.
Physical Demands :
This position requires being on your feet for extended periods of time.
Regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and smell.
The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
