What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at Derby Recreation Commission?
Who We Are Looking For:
The Marketing Specialist assists the Marketing Director in production and execution of various aspects of the DRC Marketing Program. Will produce physical and digital design assets for DRC and other properties as appropriate. May assist with social media production or interaction, website management, or other forms of marketing. May assist in promotion and execution of internal and external special events and other projects as appropriate. This is a State of Kansas KPERS pension eligible position with all rights and responsibilities that entails.
What Winning Looks Like as a PT Marketing Specialist:
- Works 25-30 hours per week with a flexible schedule working on projects managed by Marketing Director.
- Assists in implementing marketing production schedule through production of digital and physical design assets for public release.
- Develops content for routine social media promotion of DRC programs, facilities and other initiatives.
- Develops other promotional material in cooperation with Marketing Director, and programmers for promotion of programs and events including press releases, flyers, sponsor communication, volunteer development etc.
- Monitors social media to respond to public requests for information and to provide factual information where appropriate.
- Attends, supports and documents select special events and programs as assigned by the Marketing Director.
Essential Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: High school diploma is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Must have computer/marketing/social media experience in a significantly sized organization is required. Adobe creative suite experience is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical activity associated with working in an office setting is required to perform the daily duties of this position. May be asked to occasionally support special events requiring some light lifting and moving of equipment under fifty pounds. Some small portion of work may require the ability to function at outdoor environments in a range of temperatures and weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Must have neat and accurate typing skills, bookkeeping and receptionist skills. Computer skills are required. Ability to develop or manipulate digital design work is required. Experience working in social media required. Must be able to communicate and work well with other people. Must be 18 and have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
