Recreation Leader (Summer Season)
Who We Are Looking For :
The Recreation Leader is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive summer camp (normally 7 : 00 am - 6 : 00 pm) recreation program daily from Monday - Friday. This camp is for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade and runs from late May - early August. Must attend required evening and weekend trainings prior to the start of camp. Pay starts at $12.50 / hour.
What Winning As A Recreation Leader Looks Like :
- Supervise a recreational program to include sports, table games, arts and crafts, dramatics, and special activities.
- Keep accurate daily attendance records and report it on the proper form to the DRC office.
- Monitor whereabouts of assigned children and ensure safety of children at all times.
- Deal with behavior issues in an appropriate manner.
- Work with parents of children in program to ensure good communication and that the outreach program is flexible in meeting the needs of the family.
- Supervise field trips.
- Wear appropriate staff attire at all times.
- Be responsible for all supplies and equipment utilized during program.
- Attend all program training.
- Carry out all other duties assigned by the Program Supervisor relating to the program.
