Job description – Production Scheduler/ Planner
Description:
We are currently seeking a Production Scheduler/ Planner to join our team and oversee our scheduling operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that all vessel schedules are efficiently and effectively managed, optimizing resource allocation and maximizing operational efficiency. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial to the success of our operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
· Develop and implement comprehensive scheduling strategies to ensure work will be completed on time.
· Coordinate with various teams to ensure timely and efficient scheduling
· Monitor and track vessel schedules to ensure scheduling stays on track.
· Analyze data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improved scheduling efficiency.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts and minimize disruptions.
· Oversee the maintenance of scheduling systems and databases, ensuring accuracy and reliability of information.
· Update and communicate the shipyard manpower capacity planning tool to assist with strategic hiring and future workload guidance.
· Provide guidance and support to scheduling team members, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
· Produce New Builds Materials Schedules.
· Produce Work Orders for guidance and instructions for both New Build and Service work.
· Assist in developing budgets and cost estimates for production projects.
· Assist with the creation of build strategies.
· Development and Control of KPI and Metrics to assist strategies for continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
· Experience in the marine and shipbuilding industry is highly preferred.
· Experience in project management, data analytics, and strategic planning is a plus.
· In depth knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera OR Smartsheets.
· Knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards
Minimum Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields
Work Environment Summary:
· Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be able to access all areas of the shipyard and company property including docks. Shipyard work is often noisy and dirty.
