Introduction: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Compounder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately compounding, mixing, and preparing materials for production in accordance with company, cGMP, FDA and other regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in manufacturing environments, especially in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or food production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and compound raw materials to produce products such as OTC formulations, cosmetic formulations, or other specified products.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest level of product quality and consistency.
- Operate and maintain equipment, including mixers, blenders, and other compounding machinery.
- Measure and weigh raw materials with precision, ensuring proper batch formulations and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of product batches throughout the compounding process.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, FDA, or other industry-specific guidelines).
- Assist in the preparation of batch records and documentation to track production progress and quality control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to compounding equipment or product quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve production processes and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on compounding equipment.
- Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or college degree in chemistry, biology, or related fields is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a compounding, manufacturing, or production environment (pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience with compounding and mixing equipment, including homogenizers, sweeps, mixers, pumps and other equipment as applicable.
- Familiarity with batch production and quality control methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and maintain equipment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking production records.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., OTC formulation production, cosmetic formulation, etc.).
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals or machinery.
- Ability to work in varying temperature and humidity levels depending on the production process.
