To all motivated, team and goal oriented candidates Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center (DLSC) is in search of a positive, professional and upbeat Medical/Cosmetic Medical Assistant to join our Team!
DLSC is a private dermatology office located in the Medical Center with three board-certified dermatologists who are experienced and skilled in a range of dermatological procedures, including surgical and non-surgical techniques. Our 7,500-square-foot office boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including over twenty laser and light sources and an in-house Mohs histology lab.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Works collaboratively with our MD’s in both medial and cosmetic clinic, to deliver VIP experience at every visit
· Attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
·Prepares patients for examination(s) and treatment(s), which includes: documents medical history/medications/allergies/etc., checks patient’s chart for pertinent data (i.e. lab results), takes patient’s vital signs (when needed), prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments/supplies/etc., administers injections, takes before and after photographs and numbs patients when required and communicates important information to Physician in order to prepare for appointment.
· Assists Physicians with all appointment/procedures. Responsible for accurately documenting all appointment information into the patient’s chart. Prepares specimens for lab, culture and biopsies, includes completing requisitions accurately and efficiently in Nextech promptly, if needed.
· Provides post care instructions, drug samples, prescriptions and/or skincare recommendations as directed by the Physician. Discusses new procedures and quote patient.
· Contacts patients 24-hour post treatment to answer any questions. Uses Klara as a resource to communicate with patient.
· Ability to multitask, be a team player, and work in a fast-paced environment
· Spanish speaker strongly desired
· Ability to draw blood is strongly desired
· Additional duties include: clean/sanitize rooms daily, autoclave instruments, stocks rooms, uploads patient pictures in Mirror to track progress and follows OSHA & CLIA regulations and safety guidelines of the practice.
· Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: - High school diploma or GED required - Some college preferred - 2 years’ minimum experience in dermatology - Knowledge of EMR systems and electronic prescribing - Knowledge of medical terminology, OSHA and HIPAA guidelines - Excellent spoken, types and written English - Professional and courteous - Organized - Dependable - Passion for patient care
HOURS/SALARY/BENEFITS: - Full time, Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm - Compensation is competitive and based on experience - Health Insurance, vacation, paid parking and discounts on office products - Scrubs provided
