Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Insurance Representative to join our dermatology practice to act as a liaison between our practice, our patients, and our third party billing service. This role is essential in managing the billing process, handling insurance-related tasks, and ensuring smooth financial transactions for our patients. The ideal candidate is experienced in medical billing, insurance claims, and patient account management, with a strong focus on accuracy and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on unresolved claims assigned back to the office from our third party billing provider within the standard billing cycle
- Investigate, identify, research, and appeal denied claims
- Ensure accuracy and quality work on a day-to-day basis
- Reliably meet deadlines in a high-volume setting
- Manage patients on payment plans
- Enter charges for self pay patients
- Post payments that remain unallocated
- Work with third party collections agency for patients identified as needing to be referred
- Answer patient inquiries in partnership with third party billing service
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience
- Strong medical billing A/R follow-up
- Production-based focus, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical billing practices, and billing reimbursement is essential
- Familiar with billing guidelines and regulations in various states; across government and non-government insurance carriers
- Strong computer and typing skills as well as insurance website/portal navigation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
