Position Overview
As a Project Manager with Derryberrys, you will act as an organizer, planner, scheduler, problem solver, decision maker, resource manager and overall leader for HVAC, Plumbing, and/ or Site Utilities Projects. A Project Manager will evaluate project feasibility, create and implement strategic plans, managing activities of jobsite workforce while insuring jobsite safety and controlling resources necessary to effectively meet the project schedule for HVAC, Plumbing, and/ or Site Utilities Projects. Position requires strong leadership, management, strong organizational skills, must be able to demonstrate competence in both written and verbal communications.
General Responsibilities
- Project, coordinate and schedule all labor, material and equipment requirements for the projects.
- Review all submittals and coordinate with general contractor, subcontractors and vendors
- Coordinate tool/equipment delivery, storage containers and rental equipment required for project completion.
- Oversee, support and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in projects.
- Consult with supervisory personnel, owners or contractors, to discuss and resolve matters, such as: safety, schedule, work procedures, complaints or construction problems and performance.
- Ability to understand, interpret and explain plans and contract terms to staff and subcontractors for coordination purposes.
- Demonstrated a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and ideas in a non-technical, simple manner.
- Working knowledge of preparing schedule of values, billings, and change orders.
- Ability to generate and coordinate RFIs.
- Ability to interpret and facilitate CPR, RFP, ASI and all other construction directives.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Strong documentation skills throughout project duration required.
- Deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Evaluate all personnel performance and be able to communicate disciplinary actions.
- Establish and assist in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills of personnel.
- Attend company meetings and training as required.
- Ability to follow company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Three years of project management experience, including leadership responsibilities or closely related field.
- Education: Certification in HVAC, or Plumbing, or Site Utilities, or an equivalent amount of education and experience preferred but not required.
- Thorough working knowledge of project management processes, technology and safety principles.
- Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to quickly learn any other software system the company utilizes
- Strong organization, decision-making, problem solving, and planning skills.
- Project Management experience with projects between $1M and $15M.
- Valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle pressure situations
- Ability to work well with team members and communicate in a professional manner.
- Clean and neat appearance.
- Strong desire for continued growth and learning
