Job Summary
Provides quality parallel instruction in English and Communications, as well as all other areas of proficiency.

Essential Functions
Provide one-on-one and small group instructional assistance in English /Communications (to include developmental reading, writing, and speech) to TRIO-Student Support Services participants.
Develop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles and needs of students.
Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
Adhere to all Department of Education rules and regulations.
Submit related reports as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English and /or Reading and Language Arts or Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with endorsement in English/ Communication.
Demonstrated communication and human relations skills.
Ability to work effectively with students with a wide variety of learning styles and abilities.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.

Desired Qualifications
Teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level, as well as experience in curriculum design and/or implementation.

Work Schedule
15-20 hours each week; schedule to be determined
