Job Summary
Support the success and well-being of all employees by developing and implementing programs that enhance employee engagement, workplace culture, professional growth, and long-term retention. Work collaboratively with leadership, supervisors, and staff across the college to ensure all employees feel valued, informed, and equipped to thrive in their careers through strategic initiatives, training, and recognition programs. Coordinate engagement efforts that align with institutional values and support a positive, performance-driven work environment.
Essential Functions
Develop, schedule, conduct and/or arrange employee training programs to improve employee engagement, performance, and promote employee wellbeing and retention. Collaborate with departments to identify and address engagement gaps that may impact employee performance and retention.
Design, plan, and execute employee engagement programs, activities, and events (virtual and in-person) to boost morale and enhance employee well-being. Lead recognition programs to celebrate employee milestones, achievements, and anniversaries. Support HR’s internal communication platforms, such as newsletters, social media, or employee portals, to ensure employees are informed and engaged with the college’s activities and goals.
Oversee the completion of all regular employee performance evaluations. Provide administrative and reporting support for the College’s Learning Management System, Performance Evaluation System, and Engagement Programs. Serve as the primary contact for the engagement and performance evaluation systems. Develop and provide supervisor annual training. Partner with other college departments in learning how to use the systems to support employee access to training materials and resources. Track and analyze engagement and performance data, reporting insights to leadership for decision-making.
Review HR practices from the perspective of employee engagement and retention, make revisions and collect focus group feedback on continuous improvement plans for the department.
Maintain, support and analyze data for the Human Resources department in fulfillment of the annual HR report and data scorecard for the College and Department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of work experience OR Associate’s degree and four years of work experience. Work experience should be in the areas of human resources, management, training and development, employee engagement, or related field.
Knowledge of employee engagement strategies and best practices.
Demonstrated ability utilizing employee engagement software and programs.
Demonstrated ability to create and deliver effective training content and programs, both online asynchronously and in person.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels utilizing a variety of modalities; verbal, written, and interpersonally.
Proficiency in current software applications (such as Microsoft Office Suite), human resources systems (HRIS), and/or learning management systems (LMS).
Basic analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage time.
Experience with coordinating events or programs.
