Job Summary
Plans and instructs group fitness and/or related classes, following Trail Point Aquatics & Wellness standards and guidelines. Coordinates activities which are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate.
Essential Functions
Develops positive relationships with class participants by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining group fitness classes.
Sets up and takes down class equipment. Reports equipment problems.
Educates class participants on correct form and alternate moves during the fitness routine.
Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
Maintains current certifications.
Observes and discusses individual progress with participants. Develops rapport with members and responds to questions related to fitness.
Ensures safe and effective workouts. Responds to, and reports, accidents and incidents.
Discusses and promotes all Trail Point Aquatics & Wellness programs. Motivates members to commit to long term participation.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
One-year fitness instructor work experience.
Ability to complete adult and pediatric CPR/first aid/AED including hands on training within 60 days of hire. Upon review, current certification may be deemed acceptable.
Group Exercise Certification or format specific certification.
