Position Summary

Under general supervision instructs land and aquatic group fitness classes. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

Position Responsibilities
-
Unit Specific Position Responsibilities- Plans and leads group fitness classes; including land and aquatic.
- Orient new participants to class.
- Ensure all equipment is properly used during class, and cleaned and properly put away after class.
- Offers input into class structure, content, and schedule.
- Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator.
- Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator.
- Receives and forwards participant suggestions to Group Fitness Coordinator.
- Stays current on fitness research and trends.
- Maintains positive public relations with all participants.
- Maintains safe exercise environment for participants.
- Available to substitute for other instructors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):

Organizational Requirements:
-
Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Fitness industry certification (A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.S.C.A.).

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
-
At least 6 months experience instructing group fitness.
-
Skill in effective oral and written communication in English.
-
Skill in communicating with the public.
-
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently to carry out work and assigned tasks.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

One year of experience in the field of fitness instruction
