What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach, Men's USL League 2 Team position at Des Moines Menace?
The Menace head coach is responsible for recruiting and developing a team whose goal is to excel in USL League Two and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup every year. The ideal candidate will be energetic, engaging, and hard-working individual and will represent the Menace in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and motivate high-level athletes who will win games while positively representing the organization in the community.
- Coach all home, away, and exhibition matches.
- Develop training and fitness programming and coach all team sessions.
- Attract, retain, and develop the coaching staff for the team.
- Work with the Menace front office to communicate all operational details to players.
- Participate in coaching clinics, community appearances, and media interviews as requested by Menace front office staff.
- Support Menace staff in scheduling players’ involvement in youth soccer programs and community appearances.
- Manage and organize tryouts.
- Maintain professionalism at all times.
- Other duties as directed by the Menace General Manager.
Qualifications
- “A” Level coaching license preferred.
- Strong background in coaching high-level soccer (USL League Two, college, or professional level experience is preferred).
- Proven track record of developing soccer talent and leading teams to success.
