HOURS: Varies - Hour Day
CALENDER: 178 Day
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist with the operation of the total multi-unit food service operation in compliance with federal and state regulations relating to Child Nutrition Programs. Building assignments may change from day to day. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the food service department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with food preparation, and/or cooking as assigned.
- Assist with setting up the serving line, replenishing and working on the serving line.
- Maintain accurate production, food safety and sanitation standards and all required documentation.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of reimbursable meals and snacks.
- Operate Point of Service system terminal as assigned.
- Assist with cleaning at the end of the day in accordance with district and department guidelines.
- Open and close kitchen in accordance with district procedures.
- Maintain annual U.S.D.A professional standards requirements.
- Read communications from all district stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience:
- Sound knowledge of preparation, service, sanitation, and safety standards.
Desired Education and Experience:
- School Nutrition Association Certification and Membership.
- Previous work experience in school food service or other quantity food production facility.
- Willingness to obtain ServSafe certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to cope with time pressure.
- Ability to organize your own time and tasks.
- Ability to effectively use computer-based systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills
