Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a HS Dance Team Coach.
STIPEND FOR 2024-2025: $3529.00 - Will be prorated for the remanider of the 24-25 season
TITLE: ACTV
DEPARTMENT: Activities
REPORTS TO: Director of Activities and School Equity
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: HS Principal
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Dance Team Coach will be responsible for recruiting, administering, and directing the Dance Team, which will perform with the marching band at various events throughout the school year, as well as rehearse and perform as a dance team beyond the scope of the marching band performances, including competitions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
2. Schedule and attend all practices sessions before, during, or afterschool.
3. Participate in dance competitions outside of drill team and marching band performances.4.Maintain a dance program and performance schedule throughout the school year.
5.Submit to the Activities Office a year-end report including the following:
- List of members
- Awards or honors received
- Summer activities
- Recommendations for improvements
- Schedule all off-season activities, including summer activities.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
2. Maintain confidentiality.
3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
4. Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

2.Drill team, color guard, cheerleading, or dance team experience.
