About Your Role
The Business Development Analyst will be based in Denver, Colorado. They will collaborate across the Business Development and Marketing teams to support sales related activities and brand awareness in the North American P&C insurance market, with a focus on the West coast.

About Your Role
The Business Development Analyst will be based in Denver, Colorado. They will collaborate across the Business Development and Marketing teams to support sales related activities and brand awareness in the North American P&C insurance market, with a focus on the West coast.
- Proposal Development - Aid in the preparation of client proposals by collecting and organizing the technical underwriting and pricing information into Descartes’s branded templates.
- CRM & Data Management - Record broker engagement, contacts, event activities, client information, and due diligence in CRM systems.
- Analysis - Assist with organizing business submissions from brokers including statement of values, loss runs, budgets and other prequalification documents. Assist in triaging of opportunities and summarize the information in a consolidated briefing.
- Compliance - Collaborate with the Business Development Managers and the Operations team to execute TOBA documentation and appointment contracts.
- Market Research - Research new market segments and assist in maintaining a central repository that stores information. Work closely with the marketing department on various campaigns and projects.
- Lead Generation - Assist BDM in identifying new prospective distribution partners (brokers) and potential clients (Insureds) in various regions. Help identify cross-selling opportunities for existing clients. High engagement in ‘grass-roots’ sales efforts.
- Learn, Develop, maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with BD teams to optimize business opportunities & meet ratio objectives.
- Monitor insurance industry, and parametric specific, developments in the North American market, effectively communicating insights internally;
- Travel: this position may entail some domestic travel activities and occasional international travel, including periodic overnight stays.
- Co-Working Locations: this position will entail in-person meetings at co-working facilities for onboarding and strategic update meetings.
Experience & Qualification
- Currently based in Denver, Colorado;
- Minimum 1-3 years in the North American P&C Market in a business development, underwriting, marketing, sales, or finance related role;
- Candidates with experience from P&C insurance brokerage firms or underwriting companies considered a plus;
- Expertise in Commercial Property insurance (incl. NatCat) space preferred.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal communication) – required;
- Good command of one additional language (e.g. Spanish, French) – valued;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, incl. sales & negotiation;
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen.
