Branch Manager/Mortgage Loan Officer
Location:
Huntington, WV
Primary Duties
- Guide and manage branch office to provide quality service to members
- Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations
- Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration
- Monitor branch activity including teller transactions, new accounts, and loan volume
- Ensure the staff receives on-going training
- Responsible for interviewing and taking new loan applications, conducting credit checks, and compiling supporting papers in the loan process. Should have a working knowledge of sources of information.
- Obtain and compile financial information to evaluate loan applications and their risk.
- Utilize professional judgement to determine which potential borrowers represent good risk opportunities for the credit union.
- Putting together a complete loan package and working with underwriting team throughout the loan process.
- Complete/decision mortgage loans (refinances & purchases), consumer loans (vehicle, signature, etc.), and home equity lines of credit, etc.
- Generate new members and referrals through strong relationship building.
- Work directly with members to determine their needs, recommend the best loan product, review agreements, explains programs, and negotiate loans and terms.
- Maintain an active knowledge base of all the credit union’s loans products/policies and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
- Review active loan files each day to determine if any documents are missing or what can be done to help the process along to completion.
- Answer member questions concerning mortgage and consumer loans in person and on the telephone.
- Assists in performing other loan and general clerical work in the credit union as time permits.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; undergraduate degree or some college work preferred.
- At least 3-5 years experience in business related field.
- Must register/be registered by the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional travel to various branch locations and community events.
