Employment Category: Classified Bargaining Unit FLSA Designation: NonExempt Job Summary: Under direction, performs a variety of technical duties related to attendance accounting. Essential Job Functions:- Assists administrators, counselors, law enforcement, security, parents, teachers, students and other school personnel for the purpose of providing support and backup for their assignments and coordinating activities.
- Maintains files and records (e.g. student attendance records, phone reporting readmits, parent's notes, computer records for attendance files, emergency cards, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and availability of required information and current documentation.
- Monitors records and activities (e.g. attendance for school activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing assistance and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Prepares materials, (e.g. memos and correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public etc.
- Processes documents and reports (e.g. scantron sheets, forms, attendance records, letters, homework requests, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties; ensuring availability and accuracy of required information and compliance with legal requirements.
- Responds to inquiries from administrators, staff, students, parents and the general public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.
- Monitors security radios and health office as may be required for the purpose of providing assistance and support as needed.
- Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to utilize pertinent software applications. Ability to perform standard clerical and secretarial procedures. Ability to perform standard bookkeeping/accounting procedures. Ability to communicate with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds. Ability to perform basic first aid and health care. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Physical Requirements: The Office of Classified Personnel Services embraces the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The requirements of the position are maintained in the Personnel Department; and, individuals shall be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Education Required: High School graduate or equivalent and two (2) years clerical experience with one (1) year involving record-keeping.
- Licenses, Certifications and Testing Required:
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate within 90 days after initiation of employment.
- Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance.
- Tuberculosis clearance.
- Written examination.
- Typing examination at 50 net words per minute from clear copy.
Salary : $4,140 - $5,038
