Full Job Description
Urology Clinic
The medical assistant will be self motivated, professional and friendly and will deliver compassionate care to patients by assisting with clinical tasks, performing support services for clinical staff and providing direct interaction with patients and their caregivers. You will be able to attain first hand experience in a surgical subspecialty, experience physician-patient interactions, assist with procedures and learn basic prescribing and charting skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preps patient charts.
- Prepares and sanitizes all exam rooms for the day as well as in between each patient.
- Rooms patients; completes and records vital signs and applicable patient assessment items.
- Processes referrals as needed.
- Calls patients with results as directed by provider.
- Returns patient phone calls and answers phones throughout the day
- Patient prescription refills with physician guidance
- Tracking and ordering of back office supplies
- Handles physician requests and coordinates special assignments.
- Assists coworkers in any area to provide quality patient care.
- Float as needed, Cross training with other positions required
- Work on new ways to increase patient satisfaction and efficiency of the practice.
- Always willing to step outside of your role when needed.
- Maintains a professional, team oriented, positive attitude.
- Training of future additional staff in the position

Knowledge and Skills:
- Stable work history, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to take instructions from Physician.
- Must be able to relate well to patients.
- Computer and typing skills desirable. Experience with electronic medical records a plus.
- Should have good organizational skills, effective oral, and written communication skills.
- Should be flexible, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Cross coverage for front office will be needed at times as well. Ability to rotate into different positions within the small practice is expected.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
