Overview:
We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent to manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects meet quality standards and adhere to specifications. This position involves coordinating site operations, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction work to ensure it aligns with building codes and project requirements.
- Verify the quality and specifications of materials delivered to the site.
- Analyze project blueprints to detect any potential code violations or discrepancies.
- Keep detailed records of inspection outcomes and promptly report any issues encountered.
- Perform material testing to ensure it meets required quality standards during different project stages.
- Schedule and manage subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations throughout the construction site.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction trades and construction inspection role.
- Must have an OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Proficient in using digital collaboration tools for submittals and project management.
- Solid understanding of construction scheduling practices to assist in project coordination.
- Experience with the Uniform Code and NYC Supplement is preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret and analyze construction plans and technical documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Skilled in maintaining comprehensive records and performing precise quantity computations.
- Able to safely navigate and operate on active construction sites.
