Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of laser cutting machines, turret punches, and shear machines within the manufacturing facility. This role combines hands-on machine operation with supervisory responsibilities. The Production Supervisor will lead a team of 2-3 machine operators, ensuring that production schedules and high standards of quality and safety are met. They will also directly operate machines, troubleshoot issues, conduct machine maintenance, and optimize machine performance to maximize efficiency.
This is a 2nd shift position with a 3:00pm start time with a M-Th, 10 hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Supervise a team of 2-3 machine operators to ensure efficient operation of machines.
- Assign tasks and monitor the work of operators to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to machine operators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Staffing:
- Work with leadership to plan for capacity and labor needs.
- Monitor all work centers and identify need to add or subtract labor.
- Conduct on site interviews with potential candidates.
- Work with HR to provide necessary discipline up to termination.
Machine Operation:
- Operate and oversee the operation of laser cutting machines, turret punches, and shear machines.
- Set up machines, load materials, and program CNC controls according to specifications and production requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure high quality output.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines, including mechanical, electrical and software-related problems.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs or scheduled maintenance.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all products meet specified quality standards by conducting regular inspections and quality checks.
- Identify and address any quality issues in a timely manner, collaborating with quality assurance teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings and quality control measures.
Safety and Compliance:
- Partner with Human Resources to enforce safety protocols and ensure machine operators follow safety procedures.
- Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately to management and/or Human Resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education | Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating CNC machines with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with attention to clarity, quality, and precision
- Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work
- Ability to use a large variety of hand and power tools with proper safety techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
- Lifting up to 50-85 pounds occasionally (with assistance)
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for up to 10 hours throughout the shift
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary range of $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 DOE

This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, education, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity.
