Job Summary:
Are you a passionate and skilled maintenance professional? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Crew Leader to join our team. You'll be a key player in maintaining and enhancing the landscape of our clients' properties. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, garden care, and overall property upkeep. The Maintenance Crew Leader will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all areas are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing. You must have a strong background in gardening and landscape maintenance, as well as the ability to problem solve, manage others, and make good decisions.
Job Description:
- Perform regular landscape maintenance including pruning, planting annuals, mulching, and garden cleanup.
- Oversee garden care activities such as planting, weeding, and mulching to promote healthy growth.
- Monitor sites to ensure the gardens are vibrant and healthy.
- Collaborate with team members to manage the landscape per the design requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or improvement.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored after use.
- Ability to operate power tools, drive large trucks and trailers.
- Perform labor tasks such as mowing grass, raking leaves, watering shrubs and lawns, trimming and edging around walks, flower beds, driveways, and sidewalks.
- Clean grounds, prepare flower beds, and plant flowers and shrubs.
- Drive a truck and trailer when needed.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with contracted clients.
- Keep vehicles and equipment clean and functional; report any equipment needing repairs.
- Plan, schedule, and requisition necessary equipment and supplies.
- Track visits and time spent per contracted property to ensure contract terms are met within budget restrictions.
- Oversee all work in progress to ensure quality, timeliness, and safety.
- Prioritize workload accordingly and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Acquaint new team members with team policies and procedures.
- Assist in the recruitment of new employees.
- Represent the company at community activities, promotional events, seminars, garden shows, etc.
- Plan and support public relations policies, company's image, and relations with clients, prospective clients, employees, industry organizations, and the general public.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and practices.
- Experience in garden care including plant identification and horticultural practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise a small team effectively.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with preference given to those with experience hauling trailers.
- Ability to bend and stoop on a repetitive basis and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Commitment to environmentally safe garden management techniques and practices.
- Must be organized, efficient, and able to work with little supervision.
- Must be capable of performing under pressure and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to the ever-changing demands of the position and the seasonality of the industry.
