DesignScene is an international creative production agency with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore. We craft design-led events and experiential marketing campaigns for brands worldwide.
We are looking to strengthen our team with the addition of a Senior Production Manager / Technical Director based in New York to work across digital, hybrid and physical events and activations.
You will have a minimum of 7 years’ agency experience as a Senior Production Manager / Technical Director with at least 2 years in a similar role and enjoy rising to a challenge. Outstanding time management, organisational skills and a passion for live experiences are essential.
Overview
Reporting into the Production Director and working alongside a team of producers you will deliver the day-to-day production management of large-scale projects worldwide to an exceptional standard, maintaining the high production values of DesignScene. You will be a hands-on senior production manager / technical director with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships internally, and externally with clients and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have; a natural and genuine passion for technical innovation, be experienced in delivering large-scale projects and have excellent management and organisational skills. Practical skills in a technical production discipline an advantage.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES :
What do you have to achieve?
Proactive production management and delivery of projects through the triple constraints of cost, time, and qualityA very good understanding of the client products and business environmentBuild and develop good client relationshipsSmooth and efficient onsite project delivery from build to derigThat all deadlines, both internal and client led are metConfident presentations to clients where appropriateCommercially successful projects - work closely with project lead to feed in costs and managing the production aspect of the budgetJob Activities – what do you have to do?
Lead the production planning process on your projects, and support the team on their projects as requiredManage the onsite production delivery, including client liaisonInterrogate and assess production feasibility of client briefsOversee the smooth and efficient running of the warehouse, ensuring all operational issues are resolved with speedWork with the producers to manage budgets by taking responsibility of the production costsConduct detailed site surveys and onsite supplier briefingsContracting and management of suppliers, including cost negotiationComplete project wrap up and reconciliation to deadline, including expensesStay informed of industry news and champion new products and technologyProduce detailed production schedules and other project documentation as requiredManage the H&S process, collating 3rd party information and contracting H&S specialists as requiredHold supplier debriefs to take forward any learningsBe responsible for project teams providing mentoring and developing the skills of production manager and junior production managersGuide junior team members through internal processesDeal with stress points efficiently and effectively, flagging any critical issues to senior managementWhat are the skills required?
