Construction Associate (Multi-Office) Job Responsibilities : Drafting and Negotiating Contracts : Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.EPC Contracts : Prepare and negotiate Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for major infrastructure and energy projects.Strategic Advice : Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, including change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defect claims.Litigation and Arbitration Support : Work closely with construction teams on litigation and arbitration matters. Provide comprehensive support, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, preparing and taking depositions, mediations, and arbitration hearings / trials.Education Requirements : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bar Admission : Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction where the position is located.Experience Requirements : Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting, development, and related legal matters.Experience providing both transactional and litigation support in the construction industry, including drafting and negotiating construction, design, and development agreements.Experience advising clients on managing claims and disputes related to change orders, extra work, delays, and construction defects.Familiarity with industry standard contracts (e.g., AIA or similar forms) is required.Litigation or arbitration experience is preferred but not required.Desired Skills & Competencies : Exceptional analytical and writing skills with strong attention to detail.Solid business judgment and excellent organizational skills.Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with teams.Strong oral and written communication skills , with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.Excellent research and problem-solving abilities.Conceptual thinking and ability to understand and address broad issues within construction law.Ability to influence others and demonstrate persuasive communication .Management skills for overseeing projects and coordinating with various stakeholders.General Expectations : Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with clients, attorneys, business professionals, and third parties.Produce high-quality work product and respond to inquiries and correspondence in an efficient and timely manner.Meet deadlines and performance expectations while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Foster a positive work environment and adhere to firm policies and procedures.Engage in both physical and sedentary tasks , including extended periods of working at a computer, participating in virtual meetings, and attending in-person meetings as necessary.Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements : Sedentary Work : The position requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects, including the human body.Work Environment : Hybrid work model with some in-office expectations.Application Process : Required Materials : Cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample (unaltered by others).How to Apply : Please apply directly online through the provided application portal.
