A Physical Therapist Assistant at DeSoto PT plays a crucial role in helping our patients recover. They provide support to Physical Therapists by implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients.
Responsibilities
- The PTA works directly under the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Collaborate with PT to maintain a full caseload.
- Implement therapeutic interventions as directed by the PT, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities that safely progress a patient towards their goals.
- Provide encouragement and support to patients throughout their rehab process.
- Maintain accurate records, adhering to LA state board and insurance regulations.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Current LA state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong clinical skills and a good understanding of therapeutic exercises and techniques.
- Ability to carry out treatment according to an established PT plan of care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
