What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher - Full Time position at Destiny Learning Center?
Job Summary: The Infant Teacher will be responsible to assist with all classroom needs. This position is a second teacher in the classroom.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have at least 6 college credit hours, or willingness to obtain within first 12 months of employment
- At least 1 year of experience in an early childhood program serving infants and toddlers in a developmentally appropriate environment
Must be able to do the following:
- Communicate effectively with infants, toddlers, their parents, and other staff.
- Provide quality, nurturing care to infants and toddlers enrolled in the program.
- Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
- Assist in the conducting and documentation of developmental screenings and assessments of children ((one assessment per child per every 6 months must be completed)).
- Maintain positive and effective, working relationships with children, parents, and staff.
General duties:
- Ensure children feel safe, welcome and loved; create a relationship with the children
- Assist in planning both long and short range activities in accordance to curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program; meeting educational and motor skills
- monthly/weekly lesson plans with variety and daily circle time
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Work with the team in planning themes, lesson plans, and activities; assisting each other as needed
- Maintain accurate records including accident reports, medication forms, CACFP meal and attendance records, as well as accurate parent communication within Playground.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Report any suspect abuse to supervisor/director
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Fill bottles/cups with milk or formula daily
- Wash and sanitize bottles/cups twice per day
- Check diapers every 1-2 hours
- Perform laundry duties weekly
- Complete deep cleaning checklist of classroom as requested
- Rotate and Sanitize toys during nap time
- Ensure all cubbies and changing tables are stocked with appropriate amount of labeled diapers and wipes at all times
- Communicate in a timely manner to parents the need of diapers, wipes, clothing, etc
- Keep a clean and organized classroom daily
- Open communication during shift changes
- Attend in-service training hours (12 training hours per year) and required staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Center Directors or Owners
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:
- Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)
