JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Membership & Communications Director

Qualifications:

· High school diploma. Two or more years’ experience in a similar position.

· Ability to communicate clearly with members and co-workers – both written and verbal skills, in person and on the telephone.

· Self-Starter and self-reliant individual that is able to multi task and handle different personalities with ease

· Ability to work multi line phone proficiently

· Attention to detail

· Ability and desire to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor at all times

· Have computer skills including in Microsoft Office products

· Hospitality or Food and Beverage experience a definite plus

Position Summary:

Exclusive private Golf Club in Detroit is searching for an employee for a fast-paced front desk position. Responsibilities include greeting members and handling their needs, operating the main phone lines, relaying messages and helping other departments with administrative tasks as needed.

Hours:

Seasonal part-time 10-month position. This is an hourly position and includes a lay off period each year during the months of January, February and into March (dependent on weather). This position includes provided lunch during 10 working months each season. Consistent week to week schedule does not include weekends, but may include some holidays. Occasional weekend shift may be required.

Tentative 16-20 hour per week schedule is expected to be:

Sat – 9-5 pm; Sun – 9-5 pm

Hours are subject to change based on business levels of the Club and other factors.

Key Competencies:

· Uphold the Club’s commitment to hospitality

· Answer the phone in a courteous and friendly manner

· Greet members and guests entering the Clubhouse

· Understand daily events and their locations to assist members and guests

· Assist with Dining and pool reservation system

· Assist managers and other departments with administrative tasks

· Inform Housekeeping and Maintenance as problems arise

· Maintain “Lost and Found”

· Route phone calls, take messages and return calls as needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
