What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pitch Clock Operator position at Detroit Tigers?
Job Summary:
The Detroit Tigers are looking for a motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual to serve as Lakeland Flying Tigers Pitch Clock Operator in Lakeland, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in training sessions provided by Major League Baseball (MLB) when necessary and reasonably required.
- Arrive at the ballpark 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
- Monitor and reset pitch clock timers following every pitch and when rules call for other resets and countdowns.
- Operate equipment quickly and efficiently including set up and shut down before and after each game.
- Troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly.
- Be courteous, friendly, reliable and punctual.
- Work with the official scorer, umpires and select Flying Tigers personnel in interpreting results and violations of the pitch clock in conjunction with official rules and regulations from MLB.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with the Official Baseball Rules.
- Must be extremely detail oriented.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be able to handle live, fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
- Collaborative spirit with colleagues at MLB.
Working Conditions:
- Seasonal part-time on game days.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. If necessary, must be able to work long hours.
