Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Event and Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of event execution and facility operations at DE Turf Sports Complex. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional experiences for athletes, coaches, families, and event organizers while maintaining the highest standards of facility management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of sporting events, tournaments, and programs hosted at the complex
- Manage daily facility operations, including field maintenance, equipment inventory, and facility cleanliness
- Develop and maintain relationships with sports organizations, tournament directors, and event partners
- Create detailed event schedules, staffing plans, and operational timelines
- Supervise and schedule part-time staff, including facility workers and event day personnel
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers
- Monitor and maintain facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure
- Prepare event budgets and track operational expenses
- Generate post-event reports and analyze event metrics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 3 years experience in sports facility management or event operations
- Proven track record of successful large-scale event management
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and event management software
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with synthetic turf facility management
- Knowledge of multiple sports and tournament operations
- Background in youth sports programming
- Familiarity with field scheduling software
- Event security management experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate facility vehicles
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
