The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Bonding Automation Application Engineer for Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division in EMEA, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Serving as the technical host in our Bonding Process Center, showcasing bonding automation solutions to customers through live demonstrations.
- Collaborating with customers throughout EMEA to understand their bonding challenges and provide tailored solutions, offering expert advice on optimizing bonding processes.
- Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for both internal and customer-facing automation systems.
- Implementing and optimizing automated bonding systems and processes to improve productivity and quality for both internal use and customer projects.
- Collaborating with cross-functional to ensure bonding systems meet customer and product specifications.
- Seeking and integrating new bonding automation technologies.
- Ensuring all automation processes meet safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Working closely with a bonding automation expert to gain knowledge and develop expertise, while receiving mentoring and guidance.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation engineering, preferably with bonding or adhesive systems.
- Technical knowledge of automation controls, PLC programming, and robotic systems.
- Experience with CAD tools and programming languages such as Python, C , or Java.
- Strong customer-facing skills with experience presenting and discussing technical solutions.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing industrial automation systems.
- Willingness to travel for customer visits and demonstrations.
- Fluent in German and English.

- May include up to domestic/international trip (within EMEA)
