Dev Technology Group is looking for a Cloud Architect to support both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant Cloud architecture experience, strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. What You'll Be Doing :

The Cloud Architect will have overall responsibility over the engineering task and the creation and management of cloud environments. Key responsibilities of the Cloud Architect include :

  • Providing and executing strategies for DevSecOps pipeline adoption, development, and implementation.
  • Providing solutions to enhance performance monitoring
  • Implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for configuration management items in the cloud (including user access, creation and retirement of servers.), billing / usage of cloud resources, and migration between cloud environments.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Agile development experience
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials
  • Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills :

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • Designing logical and network diagrams.
  • Migrating applications from AWS Commercial Cloud to FedRamp Approved Gov Cloud.
  • Forecasting cloud costs and implementing plans to monitor and reduce costs and usage of cloud resources.
  • Designing and implementing Cloud-based AWS solutions.
  • Applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity.
  • Software design and development, systems operations / management; database architecture, storage, and IT security.
  • DevSecOps pipeline tools including configuration management, requirements (e.g. JIRA), automated testing, automated deployments, blue green deployments, and branching strategy and implementation.
  • Network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies.
  • Designing solutions compliant with the Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards and Security Requirements.
  • Message Services, such as development of Apache ActiveMQ services, MuleSoft and / or Apache Camel.
  • Microservices / container architectures (e.g. Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes), orchestration and automation.
  • Developing root cause analyses, identifying and resolving problems, and creating roadmaps for problems within system design and implementation of existing and new systems.
  • Optimizing system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis.
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, such as (but not limited to) Data Dog, AppDynamics and / or NewRelic.
  • Designing and implementing Cloud-based hosting solutions, as well as Cloud-based backup and recovery, including failover zones.
  • Best practices in billing and accounting with AWS to minimize oversubscription of services.
  • Database management and administration (Mongo DB and Oracle).
