Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Assist in mobility and transportation of patients within the facility.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Support emergency medicine procedures as needed and assist in crisis situations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Engage with patients to promote emotional well-being and provide companionship.
Experience
- Previous experience in patient care is preferred, particularly in assisted living or senior care settings.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in pediatrics is a plus.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and practices is beneficial.
- Exposure to teaching hospitals or proficiency in using electronic health record systems like Epic is advantageous.
