What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Therapist position at Developmental Services, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Participate with staff in program development.
- Write treatment plans and provide onsite follow-along.
- Help the persons served family, staff, etc with training and support.
- Advocate for each person served.
- Interface with Psychologists/Psychiatrists as needed.
- Provide input regarding safety and risk issues pertinent to the individual’s ITP/IEP/ISP.
- Provide therapy within the individual’s home, at the clinic or a combination of the two.
- Attend monthly staff meetings with supervisory staff at Bona Vista and with the Level 1 Clinician.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
- Participate in interagency meetings regarding persons served behavior needs.
- Write progress notes and correspond with supervisor and Level 1 clinician in timely manner.
- Assist with implantation of program and revise, as needed.
- Serve as liaison between persons served, families, staff, professionals and the community.
- Provide a safe, sound and happy environment for all persons served and staff.
- Must comply with any applicable BDDS service standards, guidelines, policies and/or manuals, including DDRS waiver manual and DDRS BDDS policy manual.
- Documentation in compliance with 460 IAC 6 Supported Living Services and Supports requirements.
- Provide a written report to pertinent parties at least quarterly.
- Efficacy of plan must be reviewed not less than quarterly and adjusted as necessary.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology, special education, social work or counseling or Master’s degree in human services field and be able to demonstrate to the BDDS behavior management committee that the individual has either coursework in or five (5) years experience in devising, implementing and monitoring behavior support plans. Must be supervised by a Level 1 clinician.
- Maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with Medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
