Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer – Level III to lead and execute complex electrical engineering projects across the organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and integrating modern technologies to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring advanced problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of electrical systems, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance performance and innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
- Conduct detailed electrical analysis, simulations, and modeling to optimize system performance.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve electrical system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into manufacturing processes.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC) and company guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, applying corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for system upgrades, retrofits, and new installations.
- Provide technical leadership and training to junior engineers and staff.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for electrical systems in capital investment projects.
- Leverage emerging technologies such as IoT, automation, and smart grids to enhance electrical infrastructure.
- Engage with customers to understand user requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support or perform schematic design, parts selection, analysis, simulation, and schematic capture for control and power electronics.
- Perform board layout using tools like OrCAD PCB Editor and support board procurement in regulated environments.
- Build and test prototype products, managing the full development cycle.
- Design system architecture, including cables and buswork, and perform system integration.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a related field.
- Proven experience designing and implementing electrical systems in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP), PLC programming, and power distribution systems.
- Experience with schematic design, analysis, simulation, and board layout.
- Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MS Office, and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, or related process improvement certifications.
- Experience leading electrical engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial automation, and energy management systems.
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency projects.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for electrical and control systems.
