Dewar Nurseries is seeking an ambitious, creative individual to join our national supermarket division as an Operations Assistant. As a wholesale and mass-market nursery, Dewar's supplies a variety of floral and fruit plants to major home-improvement chains, national supermarket stores, and retailers across more than 20 states. What began as 1 nursery with a pickup truck, is now a thriving business of 60 years with 350 employees and a fleet of 55 semis. Responsibilities

• Monitors crop progress, through weekly reports, based on product specifications, pre-booked quantities, and scheduled ship dates.
• Oversees quality control of shipments.
• Processes orders to appropriate manager.
• Prepares UPC, BOL, box, label, care, and handling insert sheets.
• Manages hard good inventory through monthly reports.
• Orders hard goods, as required, to fulfill orders (boxes, sleeves, care tags, and more as needed).

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able-bodied - Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Has an advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Has a minimum 1 year of experience in the horticulture industry (preferred).
• Displays strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Exhibits exceptional organizational skills that reflects the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrates proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
• Presents the ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
• Is a highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
• Demonstrates the ability to achieve high performance goals and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
