Job Summary
The Communications and Multimedia Coordinator works closely with staff to plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of print, social media, and website projects. They take an active role in shaping the organization’s public presence, serving as both a graphic designer and editor. This role includes producing engaging video content for digital platforms, designing visually compelling materials for print publications, and ensuring consistency and quality across all communication channels.
Hours
Work hours range from 20-25 hours a week, depending on workload—possible evening or weekend work hours. Flexible hours.
Qualifications
- Degree or experience in communication, similar field is required, or a minimum of 2 years of production experience
- Understanding of basic computer network concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Can be a self-starter
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Able to use Adobe or professional video editing software is desirable
- Attention to detail
- Can organize tasks and deadlines promptly
- Reliable in fulfilling deliverables
- Able to take direction from a supervisor
- Asset and file organization
- Have worked in a church or related non-profit
Communication responsibilities
- Web designer, social media management, website updates
- Creation of newsletter, church bulletin, and trifold information
- Able to create and launch email, social media campaigns
- Mastery of Mailchimp, Google Apps, Microsoft Office
- Creativity and an excellent communicator
- Graphic design for print publications and online publications
- Creation of Facebook events, posts, and information
- Management of Instagram
- Adhering to design and brand guidelines across all platforms
Office Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls and inquiries with professionalism and care
- Prepare intakes for baptisms, weddings, and funerals
- Assists with mailings and print needs of staff and congregation
Media Responsibilities (highly desirable, but not required)
- Live stream worship capture and upload
- Camera operator/sound mixer/gaffer and grip during the recording sessions
- Utilizing multiple cameras for recording
- Upload videos to Facebook and YouTube
- Live streaming to Facebook/YouTube when requested
- Podcast creation
Must be able to use the following software/social media platforms efficiently:
Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word, Email Campaign Software (Constant Contact, MailChimp), Photo-Editing Software, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign), WordPress, Social Media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite). Drobox, Google Apps.
