Overview:
Our Client, a World-Leading Internet and Satellite Provider, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. This role will primarily focus on U.S. Federal and State Income tax matters and tax provision. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in corporate tax, with a niche in tax accounting, and will be responsible for managing corporate tax returns (not individual tax returns). THIS IS A FULLY ONSITE ROLE IN THEIR ENGLEWOOD, CO OFFICE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete tax returns and reports related to federal and state income taxes
- Assist in the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns, including quarterly estimated and extension payment computations
- Support the corporate income tax provision process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP/SEC reporting under ASC 740
- Assist with federal and state income tax audits, as necessary
- Research tax law developments to determine appropriate tax methods and identify tax-saving opportunities
- Support various special projects and provide assistance with ad hoc tax assignments (including R&D studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger, and tax notice correspondence)
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in income tax compliance for large, consolidated corporations (preferably publicly traded companies)
- Strong knowledge of income tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification
- Master of Business in Taxation (MBT)
- Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision Software, Longview Tax Provision Software, CorpTax, and Sage Fixed Assets is a plus
- Ability to write tax position papers and technical memos to support the company’s tax positions
- Proactive in making recommendations and facilitating decision-making
