The HR Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources with a dotted line to the VP of Manufacturing Operations. This position provides oversight, direction and tactical support in the development, implementation, and execution of human resources policies, procedures, and programs in the areas of recruitment and selection, employment, employee relations, performance management, personnel records, employee benefits, compensation and other human resources programs and services. for the Dexter manufacturing site located in Elkhart, IN.
The HR Manager promotes the company’s vision, mission, cultural principles, and commitment to safety through maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements, demonstrated actions and communications, and by implementing and managing human resources activities including but not limited to the following:
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Assists in the development, maintenance and communication of legal and prudent Human Resources policies.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Supports plant HR personnel in human resources compliance efforts.
- Leads human resources compliance efforts at the company’s headquarters location, ensuring the company’s human resources policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the location.
- Interviews candidates for employment and coordinates recruitment and selection activity for open positions at company headquarters including pre-employment screening, consistent with Dexter policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
This position is ONSITE in Elkhart, IN. Candidates must be within the local/region vicinity to be considered.
Minimum of 7 years related experience including at least 3 years Human Resources Management experience, ideally within manufacturing/production environment.
Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws (FLSA, ADA/AA, NLRA, FMLA, ACA, etc.).
Knowledge and understanding of business, HR processes, and organizational processes.
Ability to drive timelines and coordinate across groups to deliver on a common goal.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Keen attention to detail; ability to deliver high quality, timely, and accurate work.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a comparable discipline or combination of education and experience may be considered.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP certifications preferred, but not required
