What You'll Do:
- Performs as a consultant in highly specialized, leading edge information technologies and methodologies;
- Provides highly technical and specialized guidance concerning automated solutions to complex information processing problems;
- Performs elaborate analyses and studies;
- Prepares reports and gives presentations.
- Manages the project work as defined by the government.
- Leads medium to large complex projects and major phases of very large projects.
- Provides highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active NSA Top Secret SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Must be proficient in all the current “backup” platforms to include Veritas, Cohesity, Rubrik, Commvault, etc
- Must understand and have experience with a tape library, and the aging StorageTeck enterprise level tape library
- Must be proficient in Network Area Storage (NAS) systems such as NetApp (cluster), Oracle (ZFS), VAST/GREENLAKE, Nutanix, Dell, and even Solaris Operating system and UNIX
- Must have knowledge and understanding of the different share protocols such as: S3, CIFS, NFS, ISCSI, and fiber for block storage
- Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and other related technologies.
- Adhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as required.
- Participate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in alignment with other engineers, architects, and technical service lanes.
- Create and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books, and other technical engineering documents.
- Demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processes.
- Oversee the installation of new storage hardware and software according to standard operating procedures.
- Oversee updates to hardware, operating systems, and software as needed to provide required functionality and security.
- Ensure systems are monitored and statistics relevant to capacity, performance, utilization, etc., are collected and regularly reviewed.
- Keep abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technology.
- Performs end to end analysis on the performance of the storage infrastructure, presents findings, and submits recommendations for improvement.
- Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the development of new storage infrastructure and Information Lifecycle Management designs, including requirements and analysis.
- Provisions storage based on standardized procedures to meet customer agreed upon standards.
- Responsible for configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.
